Ammolite and sterling silver
Ammonite fossils are shells from the Cretaceous* period. When they become opalized, it’s called ammolite. Below: a stunning ammolite specimen (not mine or my pic) 143.1 to 66 million years ago

Fire Agate with a floral Gorham band
The shank was made from a sterling silver butter spreader handle made by Gorham. The pattern is called buttercup and dates from 1899!

35th annual show by CMAG – the Creative Metal Arts Guild – and a number of others. Glass, pottery, woodworking, beads, printing, sculpture, gem faceting…. It’s an amazing show that I shopped at for years before joining the guild. And admission is 100% free! April 24-26 at the Oregon convention center.
